If you’ve been less than thrilled about (or downright grumpy during) mornings your whole life, the energy and enthusiasm early risers have for their crack-of-dawn wake-up call can be confusing, if not irritating.
Why on earth would anyone choose to get up earlier than needed?
After hearing friends and colleagues who identify as “morning people” rave about how much more productive their days are when they wake up early, I decided I had to test out this theory for myself.
There had to be something more to this madness!
While becoming an actual morning person may still be a work in progress for me, waking up even just 30–60 minutes earlier has led to noticeable changes including:

- Improved time management
- Greater motivation and self-discipline
- Less frantic mornings
- Increased creativity and problem-solving abilities
If you’re looking to boost your productivity (and general happiness levels), joining the early riser club may be easier…
