Once upon a time, a lady named Lily managed a small team of 4 at a marketing agency. She loved her job but her co-workers disagreed.
The problem with Lily was her obsession with meetings. She and her team would have as many as ten meetings a day. Almost all of the meetings could have been emails.
She would have a morning meeting where everyone gathered in a circle on the floor around her. She would ask everyone what their plans are going to be for the day. Then she’ll have meetings just to schedule more meetings. It took ten minutes to get everyone gathered for a meeting that was five words long.
Some of her team members recommended to her a thing called “Email.” She already had 2483 unread emails in her inbox. People send her emails but instead of replying, she called them. She never replied to emails. She would either call you or find a reason to have another meeting.
If you missed a meeting, she would call you at home outlining what the meeting was about. The phone call…
