Member-only story
Once upon a time, there was a lady in a striped shirt that everyone knew. She lived in a striped house and wore striped clothing. Everything she ate was striped. Her furniture, car, and even the carpeting inside her house had stripes.
People didn’t understand her love for stripes. Why is everything of hers striped? The stripe lady never says a word about her stripes. When asked about her affection with stripes, she would whistle instead of talking about it. Annoyed by people’s constant curiosity about her stripes, every time she whistled, a striped rainbow came out of her mouth. While the rainbow was cute and sparkly, it was also made out of chloric acid. Every time someone asks about her stripes, the stripe lady whistles, rainbows form, and the curious stranger is dissolved into nothingness.
To prevent her from showering you with chloric acid striped rainbows, all you have to do is first ask her how her day was. Compliment her stripes at least. The stripe lady loves it when people inquire about her day or say nice things about her stripes. She will still whistle at you when talking about her stripes. You may not understand her but at least you don’t have to worry about the acid rainbow.
