We’ve all heard that morning routines set the tone for our days. I used to roll my eyes at that idea because cobbling together a perfect routine seemed complicated and unnecessary.

Most mornings I hit snooze too often and then rushed around cranky and stressed out.

It took understanding the tiny habits concept to finally craft an easy morning flow that energizes my whole day.

I assumed creating a morning routine meant adding in a bunch of new big habits I didn’t really have time for and probably wouldn’t stick to anyway.

You know, things like getting up at 5 a.m. to meditate, go jogging, whip up a healthy breakfast, and still make it to work on time.

Just thinking about the major overhaul felt exhausting and unrealistic.

The trick that finally worked was focusing on starting tiny new habits, then building incrementally from there. Tiny habits are very quick, simple behaviors you tack onto an existing habit.
