Eau de Michelin: A Comical Tale of a Man and His Unusual Odor
Meet Alowishus. Alowishus is an attractive young man who has one small problem. He smells like new car tires.
Think about the last time you went tire shopping. The entire place smelled of rubber. The scent of tires exuded a pungent yet robust aroma reminiscent of freshly tilled earth, with undertones of rich and smoky notes that linger in the air like the fragrant petals of a blooming wildflower. While that smells great if you were a tire shop, it’s not a great smell to have as body odor.
Alowishus has this problem. He has never owned a car. He has never been inside a tire shop, and yet random people keep knocking on his door, asking if he is selling Yokohama or Toyo tires.
Everywhere he goes, people say the same line: “Is it me or does it smell like tires in here?”
Alowishus tried everything to mask the tire smell. He even once believed that he was a pair of tires himself. It seems that no matter what he does, he will always smell like tires. He has learned to accept it and, with that, has decided to sell car tires for a living. Since he sells tires, he thought it would be normal for people to assume he smells like one.
And that is what Alowishus is currently doing, and so far he is making a good chunk of change as a tire salesman.
