Member-only story
There was once a small village where animals knew how to talk, inanimate objects knew how to walk and humans knew how to… who knows what. In this small village, there was a girl named Lucille and a boy named William.
William and Lucille lived three houses away from each other. They weren’t best friends but they did have one thing in common. They both turned into fish.
One night Lucille walked into the garden of an elderly woman named Marcy. Marcy was 105 years old and yet for her age, she maintained the most beautiful garden in the village. Lucille walked by her garden and saw an orange eggplant. Marcy told the girl that it was one of her special eggplants. Lucille asked if she could take it home. Marcy allowed the girl to take the eggplant home.
The following evening, William saw the same eggplants but instead of it being orange, it was white with stripes. Marcy told the boy that it was one of her special eggplants. William asked if he could take it home. Marcy allowed the boy to take the eggplant home.
Around dinner time, both William and Lucille were in their homes eating the eggplant they got from Marcy. Within the next hour, they turned into fish.
